The first Eurovision entrant for 2019 has been revealed. Srbuk Sargsyan will represent Armenia in the popular competition next year in Tel Aviv. This information has been revealed during the late-night show Lav Yereko.
The official broadcaster of the Eurovision Song Contest in Armenia, AMPTV has opened a submissions process for songwriters to submit songs for their representative. Deadline for the submissions is January 10th, and interested parties can find the full guidelines here. Furthermore, the broadcaster has uploaded the following promotional video!
Who is Srbuk?
Srbuk is of the rising stars in Armenia, and has participated in numerous competitions, both local and international, including reaching the final stage of The Voice Ukraine. Her hit single Yete karogh es topped the Armenian charts for weeks in 2016, and last week she dropped a new single titled Half a Goddess.
Consequently, Srbuk has stated “I am starting a new journey now, which, I am sure, will be full of new and pleasant emotions, challenges and amazing experiences! I am grateful to all of my friends and fans, who are always with me and have always wanted to see me on the Eurovision stage.”
Also, she added “It’s an honor to represent my country in front of the whole world! We have an amazing journey ahead of us, and I hope we’ll succeed together!” she added.
