POLAND WINS THE 16TH JUNIOR EUROVISION SONG CONTEST. CONGRATULATIONS!

The 13 year old Roksana Węgiel, who represented Poland, has won the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. This is Poland’s first victory in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

The winning song “Anyone I Want to Be” is written by Maegan Cottone, Nathan Duvall, Cutfather, Peter Wallevik, Daniel Davidsen, Małgorzata Uściłowska, and Patryk Kumór.

The winner was chosen through a 50-50 split between viewers from participating countries and around the world, online voting and points given by juries made up of three industry experts and two children from each participating country. The results of tonight’s show can be seen down below:

  4. Malta – 182 points
  5. Ukraine – 181 points
  6. Kazakhstan – 171 points
  7. Italy – 151 points
  8. Georgia – 144 points

  11. Belarus – 114 points
  12. FYR Macedonia – 99 points
  13. Netherlands – 91 points
  14. Israel – 81 points
  15. Ireland – 48 points
  16. Azerbaijan – 47 points
  17. Albania – 44 points
  18. Portugal – 42 points
  19. Serbia – 30 points
  20. Wales – 29 points

 

A record 1,283,921 votes were received in the online poll divided into two rounds; one for the performance based on preview clicks and one second that opens to the last live show.

The host country and broadcaster for the 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be announced in the coming months.
