WILL NIKOS GANOS REPRESENT GREECE IN THE 2019 EUROVISION SONG CONTEST?

Over the past few weeks as the Eurovision season starts to dawn upon us, a lot of rumours have started to fly around, but it is Greece who seems to be getting the most attention.  There are some big names rumoured to represent the country in next year’s contest in Tel Aviv.

One of the most rumoured names that has been linked with the country’s participation in Eurovision 2019 is the popular greek singer Nikos Ganos. “People Greece” Magazine have reported that the star has had discussions with the Greek broadcaster ERT regarding Eurovision, but without any final decision made yet.

The singer himself has stated that it would bring him “great joy” to represent Greece in Eurovision someday. Will it be in 2019? We will just have to wait and see!

 

Who is Nikos Ganos?

Nikos Ganos also know as Nicko is a popular Greek singer and model. He has two tattoos, one of an ancient Greek Soldier’s helmet on his back and “Family Tree” written in Hindi on his left arm.

Nikos performs pop, r&b and dance music. His career started in 2004 when he participated in the first Greek version of Super Idol. In 2010 he released the song “Last Summer” which was the most successful song in Greece that year. His other successful singles are: This love is killing me, Say my name, Time after time, Walking alone and many others.

In April 2013, Nikos has been competing in the first Greek series of Your Face Sounds Familiar. Ganos  himself has shown interest in representing Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest in the past.

It has also been rumoured that both ERT and CyBC, the Cypriot broadcaster have approached the singer Tamta to perform for their countries in Eurovision 2019. Tamta participated in the Greek national selection in 2007.
